NOTICE TO ALL PATIENTS REGARDING PROCESSING TIMES OF REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

The collection times above apply to prescriptions collected from the surgery. If your prescription is sent to your chosen pharmacy using the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) please check with the pharmacy when it will be ready to collect from them as they may require additional time to prepare your medication

From 1st June 2021 only housebound patients coded on our system as such, will be able to order prescriptions over the telephone. All other patients will have to order either on line using one of the apps available, email or by placing a paper order request in the post box outside the surgery

It will be necessary for you to be seen at intervals to review your medication.

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

• those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
• those who are age exempt
• those with certain medical conditions

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• Prescription (per item): £9.35
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £108.10
• 3-month PPC: £30.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
