If you are too ill to come to surgery, a home visit can be arranged by telephoning 01282 731740 before 10.00 am if possible, and give the receptionist as much information as possible.

Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability and are currently being carried out by a specialist team.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. 

We are able to offer appointments at 5 hubs across East Lancashire, locally they are at Yarnspinners Health Centre in Nelson and St Peter's Health Centre in Burnley

• Monday to Friday – 18:30 to 20:30
• Saturday – 10:00 to 16:00
• Sunday – 10:00 to 16:00

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. Patients who do not attend 3 times without informing us will be sent a warning letter and may be asked to register with another GP

You can text to cancel your appointment.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

You may be asked if a medical student or trainee doctor can be present during your consultation with the doctor or nurse.

If you can help in this way, the students are very grateful, however if you are embarrassed or uncomfortable in the presence of a student, please say so.

ST3 Doctors

ST3 doctors are fully qualified doctors with at least 4 years of hospital and GP experience. They are in their final 12 months before becoming fully qualified GPs.

ST2 Doctors

ST2 doctors are fully qualified doctors with at least 3 years of hospital experience.

Foundation Year 2 Doctors

FY2 doctors are fully qualified doctors with 1-2 years of hospital experience. All doctors in their 2nd year after qualification have to spend 4 months in General Practice. The FY2 doctor is always supervised by one of the GPs.

Medical Students 

These are students in the 3rd year at University, they will take a history of your problems and then you will be seen by one of our fully qualified doctors.
